We love our valley, but sometimes a 10-minute drive over the state line into Warwick, NY, is exactly what the weekend calls for. Whether you’re looking for a cozy corner with live music or a lively parade through the village, February and March are packed with reasons to visit our northern neighbors.

1. Mardi Gras for a Cause (Tuesday, Feb 17)

Warwick turns "Fat Tuesday" into a town-wide celebration with a mission.

  • The Event: 14 musical acts at 14 different locations across the Village of Warwick and Village of Florida.

  • The Why: It all benefits Backpack Snack Attack, a local charity providing weekend meals to children in need.

  • The Vibe: Beads, masks, and live music from local favorites like the Black Dirt Bandits and Arborline. The party usually culminates at Village Billiards for an epic after-party.

2. St. Patrick’s Day Season

Warwick doesn't just celebrate for one day; they turn the whole month green.

  • The Parade (Sunday, March 8): The 5th Annual Warwick St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off at 11:00 AM. It’s a classic, high-energy community event perfect for families.

  • Ireland in Motion (March 15): Head to the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center for a 3:00 PM matinee featuring Emish (Americana-Celtic band) and the Darrah Carr Dance company. It’s a world-class fusion of traditional step and modern movement.

3. History & Hops: Tavern Night (Thursday, March 26)

If you love the "hidden gems" of the region, this is for you.

  • The Experience: Step back in time at the historic Baird’s Tavern (built in 1766). This annual event hosted by the Warwick Historical Society lets you raise a glass in the same room where George and Martha Washington once stayed.

  • The Menu: Expect specialty pub fare, local beers, and classic tavern games from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

4. Weekly Favorites: The Farm & Winery Circuit

Warwick’s famous farm markets are the perfect place to hide from the late-winter chill.
